Please give us a short summary of your website?

We are a 100% foreign owned sourcing company based in Shanghai, China. We have been helping clients to source for ANY products from Chinese suppliers & help clients to outsource their production to Chinese manufacturers to lower their cost of production but keeping the same level of quality of products. We also help clients to inspect factories, manage production, inspect loading, arrange custom clearance & logistics.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

The website was launched to help our clients or potential clients to understand more clearly of what our company is doing & what we can do for them. We try to update the website as often as possible to allow better information passed to our clients.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

The website was first launch in 2005 & it has been updated regularly ever since. The content has been growing especially in the Product page section to more than 100 different products.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

The name of the website is based from our company name & also based on what we are doing as a business. In Chinese character, it means safety & in great numbers.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

What makes us different from other sourcing agents/trading company is that we actually distribute and sell some of the products through our retail and distribution channels in Southeast Asia. Currently we are distributing to more than 1,500 stores and we are selling more than 100 different products. We want to share our expertise in finding the suitable suppliers in China with other people in other countries. We welcome small, medium or large companies and also individuals to use our service and enjoy the benefits together. As long as you can satisfy the minimum order requirement set by the factories, we will do our best to help you.

We also try to educate people who visit our website by explaining each products in a simple manner & providing additional information to understand the practical use of the product.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Our eventual goal will be to one of the best trading company that is reliable & trustworthy, providing good quality products & good service. We hope our website can give them reliable product & service information & informative with up to date information.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

I believe in working hard to ensure the stable continuity of the business. The website is still relatively young & need constant improvements. As the business grows, more investment will be needed to improve the website & hopefully it can bring more clients that can be satisfied by our service.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

We will improve many areas of the website & add more content. Perhaps adding some online business section which allows clients to purchase directly from us for small quantity & through secure payment service.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

We are ready to keep improving the quality of the website in terms of bandwidth & other things needed to keep the quality of the service to our users. Currently our website can handle high traffic because size of the website is still relatively small.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

In terms of running the website, problems with website downtime due to server repair or update can create headaches. Being establish in a country where they have strict control over information flow, sometimes your website or your server can be blocked & you will need to find ways to access your website from mirroring sites.

What has been your biggest challenge?

The biggest challenge is in providing reliable & useful information for the clients. Products need to be continuously updated & new products will continue to be added. Improving the appearance of the website to keep up with the changes also important.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

So far we try to post as many adverts as possible in b2b websites & trade portals, along with search engines such as Google, yahoo, msn, etc. Establishing links with other websites is also helpful.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

In the beginning it was quite tough to understand how the website work & how it will evolve. As time goes by, the maintenance becomes easier, but there is a need to have regular updates to ensure that the content is always fresh & up to date.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

The site was running since 2005 & we will continue to keep it going because we believe in long term service for our clients.
