Name of your website?

ProWest Outsourcing

Your name?

Derick Maritz

Your Location (city, etc)

ProWest operates from 9 centres throughout South Africa

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Our website is the corporate gateway of all our business units, each offering a specific service, but operated from one centre. Our Clients thus have the convenience of getting all the help they need to outsource their non-core business processes from one place.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

No business should be without a web presense, and we are no different in this regard. We believe that not having a website is not an option.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

I personally launched my first website about 8 years ago and it was for a company that did mainly the same as ProWest. Regretfully, they stopped trading and I found a new challenge in ProWest

How did you decide on a name for your website?

The name was easy. It's Pro for Professional and West for the region in South Africa where we started from - the West Coast

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

The website is probably no different than others. It is what the customer get from the company that makes the difference.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

I don't think we'll sell the site, but everything has a price. Our Goal is be the most preferred provider of BPO services in Sub-saharan Africa.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

There is simply no comparison. The time is worth every second. Our customers and clients need to know what we are up to to continously imporve our service to them.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Firstly, I would use a better development program. Secondly, I'd spend it all on rankings, nothing else.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes, yes and yes. ProWest will eventually have to employ a team to maintain the various aspects of the site, especially with ProWest Media's Prologue Magazine coming in June 2008.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Non so far.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Getting the hits, and we are currently on 26 000 hits every 14 days, so it is really working for us.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

That I cannot reveal, as this is what everybody else would want to know.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It was easier than I expected.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

It was launched in April 2008 and we'll keep it up for as long as we have clients to serve.

What is your website address?
