Outsourcing Hollywood

By Website Introductions at 07/12/08 12:49
With all this outsourcing frenzy on going, it's just a matter of time before Hollywood comes in and outsource its film production work.

Hollywood, actually, has been outsourcing a lot of aspects of its work for a couple of years already but, for now, it's all about just animation, postproduction, and local production support for shots taken outside the United States.

BPO Growth Target is 40%

By Website Introductions at 07/08/08 15:25
Despite the Philippines being the second largest BPO provider worldwide (next only to India), the Philippine government is still pushing through for more widescale operations to keep up with demand. In fact, the Philippine President has even set a target of 40% growth for this year--a very tough feat if ever, considering the US slump this year. Will the Philippines be able to do it? We'll see in the following months.

The IELTS

By Website Introductions at 07/02/08 13:29
No wonder countries like the Philippines and India are thriving in the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry. Their populations are proficient in English.

However, because English is not the primary language of Indians and Filipinos, they are still subject to taking certification examinations like TOEFL and IELTS, though less people take these exams than in other nations.

Need some help with the IELTS? Here's some help.

OSS to help Philippines tap BPO industry

By Website Introductions at 07/01/08 20:47
With it being completely free (aside from what you pay the staff to operate it) and flexible, the use of open source software in the BPO industry will most likely help the Philippines go on its way and tap a portion of the multi-billion dollar industry.

This was agreed upon by industry experts in the recently Philippine Open Source Summit in Cebu City.
