Lakeside town to be developed into a regional business and tourist hub

Africa seems to be on its way to catch up with the BPO boom that has been underway in recent years.

The Kenyan government has already set a plan to convert the lakeside town of Kisumu into an advanced business and tourist hubs that will cater industries such as the BPO industry.

Officials said that feasibility studies are already underway. The development plan was made in accordance with the Kenyan government's Vision 2030.

Chinese BPO?

It doesn't take a genius to know that China is now in its boom years, when giant investments are pouring in and a lot of people seem to be getting richer and richer. One of the industries the Chinese government is interested on entering is the billion-dollar BPO industry.

There will be a lot of challenges, though, as China is years away from its competitors India and the Philippines when it comes to English proficiency and Western affinity. Let's follow its progress.
